Easter Sunday in New York City

Couldn't resist a trip into the city this weekend to see the annual display of Easter finery. Fifth Avenue between 45th and 60th Street is closed on Easter Sunday to allow locals and visitors alike to show off their creations.

Of course, there are the hats:

Amazing what you can do with pink, blue and yellow plastic spoons!

Others opt for full costumes:

while others chose to make a statement:

and, of course, the day wouldn't be complete without at least one Easter Bunny:

Meanwhile, some found alternative uses for their Easter candies:

the jelly bean coat

the marshmallow peeps hat

And even the dogs joined in the fun:

though I'm not sure this one looks too happy:

This is only a small sample of the many amazing and creative efforts - the participants obviously put a lot of time and effort into their costumes. If you're ever in New York City on Easter Sunday, this is definitely an event worth seeing.
